The Key To Sit N Gos

October 24, 2009

Many players will try and play sit n gos, but find they are not making any money. They scratch their heads and wonder what they’re doing wrong.  Should I have done this should I have done that? I hear time and time again. Why aren’t I making any money?

The answer is… nothing. They are probably good players and making the correct plays but find themselves losing money.

When I ask them how many they play, the answer is generally the same. Not enough.

In order to make money at these games, you must be prepared to play a significant amount of games. The reason is you may lose 4, 5 or even 10 in a row. Trust me, it will happen.

You could be a great player but when you only play 2 or 3 games a day, you will not be able to outrun the variance.

Let’s look at this example. If you play 10 games and lose the first 5 but place in the money for the rest you are coming out ahead.

Variations of Sit N Gos

October 24, 2009

A new craze in the poker world, are multi table sit n go’s. These games are becoming very popular among new players and even accomplished players are finding these to be a very profitable source of income.

These games include the extremely popular 90 man knock outs on full tilt, 45 mans and 180 mans. Each game offers variations of structure.

The 90 man KO’s are very fast paced and offer a bounty for each player you knock out. You start with double the amount of chips in normal MTT, which allows for more play.

They work just like single table games and start once the designated numbers of players are registered.

A player who is short on time can jump on and start playing a mini tournament so to speak and be done in an hour or so. The payouts are good and I highly recommend trying one out.
